Sunday, April 25 4:00 - 6:00 PM at the Teller Wildlife Thomas Pond.

Thanks to all who have generously contributed  time supporting the  Bitterroot Buggers fly tying  classes.
We need your help for the last  class!

We will be casting, fishing (and grilling burgers and hot dogs !)

Not a caster or fisher person? No worries!
There are many  tasks that keep the class running smoothly - come on down!

Teller is located just outside of Corvallis. At the four-way stop in Corvallis, turn north  onto the Eastside Highway. Approximately one mile north of Corvallis, you will come to Quast Lane.   For the Slack Barn/Slack House turn west onto Quast Lane. Drive until it dead ends at Chaffin Lane. Turn south (left) onto Chaffin Lane. The Slack Barn/Slack House will be the first driveway on your right. (see below for link to a map)
We'll also draw tickets to determine the winner of the Dolak print - you'll receive one more ticket by attending - good luck!

A saturday on the Bitterroot

Jack worked last Saturday with two friends/outfitters/guides Josh Lauer and Scott Nicolarsen. They all met at a parking lot in Hamilton, then each went their own way to fish their choice stretch of the 80+ mile Bitterroot River. By looking at the group in the parking lot, it might have looked like a lot of boats fishing together, but that was not the case. They fished separate sections. Too many boats in close proximity are not doing the fish any favors or the public (especially the wade fishers). Jack and his friends work hard and practice good manners and ethics.

This Saturday was like most, the river was pretty crowded, but the fishing was good for Jack and his boat. See some photos below.

Friday fly fishing on the Bitterroot with a pair of Jacks

From 2010-04-09 Jack Frank on the Bitterroot

Friday on the Bitterroot, not much more to say. Fishing was cold and tough but when you keep at it, you catch fish. Jack Mauer had a great time fishing with Jack Frank (who is pictured).

Doc Bolton and his nephew, Pete, fly fishing the Bitterroot River

It was a pretty cold day on the Bitterroot but the fishing was good. Doc Bolton is a good friend that has property on the Bitterroot River. He lives here part-time and is fortunate to have some time here right now. He and his nephew fished with Jack the other day. I am just now getting to the photos. See them all in the slideshow below.
