A friend sent us these photos today. Brrrr....
An unidentified photographer took these pictures in Miles City Montana where the Tongue River flows into the Yellowstone River. The buck made it to shore. The photographer saw him jump to safety when the ice jammed close to shore.

Nice blog guys...very informative. I'm always dreaming about the next fly fishing excursion back out to Big Sky Country...I love it out there.
ReplyDeleteThank you! It is great to get feedback. Keep the comments coming. Tell us what you like and what you want to see more of.
ReplyDeleteTar Heel, we visited your blog, love it, and are now following it. I lived in Asheville from 2003 to 2005 (actually still lived here but worked there). I worked for the Forest Service on Storm Recovery projects. I have traveled a lot doing contract work and have visited many places. If I could have two homes right now, one would be near Asheville and one here in Montana. I will visit NC again, but for now, I will enjoy it through your blog. It is great that you include some things that are not NC, it spices it up a bit. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI've got an aunt that lives over in Alder, MT but comes over here to Waynesville, NC to spend the Winters...We were out your way this past June. Ennis was the town we stayed at...right on the Madison. Hoping to fish the areas around Glacier, Missoula, and the Canadian border before too long...hopefully Yellowstone will hold off on erupting.
ReplyDeleteTake care guys
Waynesville! I love that area! She is very fortunate. And Alder, MT is beautiful, too. Well, if you come back, let us know. It would be wonderful to visit. Yes, Yellowstone is active, but has been for a very long time. It is one of the most interesting geological places in the world and it is in our backyard. Glad you are paying attention.
ReplyDeleteGood to hear that buck made it to shore, haha I can only wonder what was going through his mind!
